Cuomo, carrying a briefcase, arrived at La Guardia Airport with a State Police officer, a PA police officer, recognizing Cuomo after checking the ID of the state cop, waved the attorney general around the scanners, and sent him to the waiting area for the US Airways shuttle.

When Transportation Security Administration officials got word that Cuomo had been waved through the security checkpoint, they brought him back so he could be properly screened.

"The attorney general should not have been directed through security, and once the mistake was realized, it was corrected," said PA spokesman John McCarthy, adding that the actions of the cop who slid Cuomo through "are under review."

A Cuomo spokesman said, "Obviously, we are happy to do whatever the Port Authority and TSA want us to do." [NY Post]

Is he a security risk? If he was recognized, why shouldn’t he have been waved through? It is crazy that most people who are unassuming innocent passengers have to go through such rigorous security checks, if someone can prove who he is and is not a known terrorist, he shouldn’t have to go through all those checks.

Hope they remember to check every “terrorist” as well!!!!

I traveled with an old guy who was after a stroke; he did NOT resemble anything close to a terrorist… Yet those “smart” security personnel managed to “thoroughly check him once at the checkpoint, where he was made to remove his hat, winter coat, jacket, vest, hold his hands up (after stroke) and then untie his shoes (didn’t let anyone help him…) when he was done, and finally dressed again, he was called over to a side, where he was made to do it again and then unpack his entire handbag!!!
    Reshoyim!!!
A visibly sick 80-year-old man… to go through all this….
