New York – Russian banker-turned-politician is planning to launch a global Jewish TV network to rival Al-Jazeera, the Evening Standard has learned.

Vladimir Sloutsker, a senator in the upper house of the Russian parliament, confirmed he is behind the move.

‘I believe an international Jewish television channel is a necessity,’ said Sloutsker. ‘The Jewish community worldwide is currently facing and will face in the near future growing challenges worldwide.
