    The agency no longer accepts doctors’ notes as proof that customers need paratransit service, forcing Access-a-Ride users to visit testing centers and walk up steps of a mock bus entrance to prove their disabilities.

    “It’s humiliating coming down here,” said Patricia Forbes, 56, of Canarsie, who was recently interviewed about her spinal disease in a hallway because rooms at the Omni Rehabilitation Center in Flatbush were full. “If you already have the person in the system, you know their case. It don’t make no sense,” she said of the new rule that kicked in March 5. [nydailynews]
