Orange County, Woodbury NY – Numerous NY State police and Woodbury Police Department are searching a large area for a perp wanted in a home invasion shooting at Bakertown Road and Campbell Avenue. The perp shot the homeowner at 14 Campbell Avenue during the armed robbery, he was last seen on Campbell Avenue. K-9 responding Aviation is overhead, and NYS Police is requesting entire Village of Kiryas Yoel to stay indoors for the possibility of the perp hiding in the village, schools are being shut down and children bused home immediately .

The women who lives at 14 Campbell Avenue took her own gun and shot 2 time on the wall. And claimed that a white male 6′ came in to her house and robbed her.
Last night at 22:00 hours she came in to the Woodbury Police Satiation house and admit that she is the suspect No arrest has been made as of yet. [VIN]

Police searched the woods and neigborhoods around Bakertown Road for nearly two hours today, in pursuit of a suspect who apparently fired a gun and ran.
The search was called off at about 6 p.m., and Woodbury town police said that it was safe for people to be outside again.
Moses Witriol, the director of public safety for the Village of Kiryas Joel, said that state troopers, Orange County sheriff’s deputies with trakcing dogs and Woodbury and Blooming Grove police searched for a white man, about six feet tall. Because the shot was fired nearly the densely-populated village, schools were shut down and children bused home immediately at 4 p.m.
“My concern was that the gunman might take one of the children hostage,” Witriol said. Families in Kiryas Joel were instructed to keep their children inside as police continued their search.
Woodbury police said no other details about the shooting would be available until tomorrow morning.
