“We’re both older,” said Hikind. “We both have children. We both have grandchildren. Life goes on. He’s running, and I support him.”

Orthodox Jews Hikind and Dear represented the same Borough Park neighborhood before term limits forced Dear off the City Council in 2001. [post]

I’m SURE that Dov researched Noach’s credentials – his Judicial experience and temperament, his ratings and reviews by all the Bar Associations and Judicial Screening Panels for the past years, reputation, etc. and found NOACH to be the most qualified for Civil Court Judge as opposed to all others from the Frum community vying for this position for years.

I am not too familiar with the local politics. I am wondering how does Simcha Felder come in, with whom is Smicha aligned?

Also I thought that Noah will run for his old seat that will get vacated by Simcha’s term limits. What’s the roomer, who is preparing to rung for Simcha’s counsel seat?

I think many of the readers here would appreciate a good and open summary of the local political camps.

In my opionion, having Noach as a Judge is great for us, this way he can’t get involved in local issues, and he will stop causing problems. It keeps us out of HIS harms way.

So why doesn’t DOV endorse a Heimish Frum Yid? That’s a real “Kufi Tova”! Why should we orthodox jews vote for him if he doesn’t endorse a orthodox jew (Beitner)?

Dov doesn’t want to endorse a fellow orthodox Jew Mr. Leo (Leibel) Beitner a Bobover Chossid Because he wants to do a favor to Vito Lopez the Brooklyn Democratic Party Chairman and rather endorse a Black Model ShanDaya Simpson, Isn’t this a shame?v

Anonymous 6:06 says: “He only very recently passed the bar and he runs for judge? That’s a lot of experience.”

For the record, Noach Dear, New York State Bar Registration Number 2621670, was admitted to the Bar in 1994, and therefore has approximately 13 years experience under his belt.

For comparison, Columbia Law School drop-out Benjamin N. Cardozo was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1891, and ascended to the bench of the New York Court of Appeals in 1914, appointed by Governor Glynn after election to the lower court (Supreme Court of New York) bench in 1913. He had no actual judicial experience, but the rest is history!

If you choose to criticize Noach Dear, you do not need to concoct falsehoods! There is plenty on the record which can be used to question his qualifications to wear the black robes of the judiciary.

And, quite frankly, his ascension to the bench would inspire little confidence in this attorney. I would be quite pleased to be proven wrong on this score!

How come DOV didn’t then endorse another Orthodox jew who is running for Surrogate Judge in Brooklyn Mr. Leo Beitner??

I suggest that Noach use the following campaign slogans – “You can’t buy a better judge” and “The best judge money can buy”

It puts Noach out of the picture so he won’t run against Dov. And maybe Noach will get to keep his new telephone system this time!
