Amberley Village, OH – Synagogue Plans Approved

    1

Amberley Village, OH – A revised plan for the construction of a new synagogue has received the approval of the village's Board of Zoning Appeals.
"We're very excited that we'll be able to move forward with the project," said Jack Rabenstein, president of Kneseth Israel.
They will begin construction at the southeast corner of Section Road and Farm Acres Drive in February or March of next year.

The two-story, 12,000-square-foot synagogue will be completed in early of 2009, Rabenstein said. It will be the fifth Jewish synagogue in Amberley Village.

Traffic safety concerns had been raised about the originally planned location of the synagogue's driveway on Section. But the congregation moved the planned driveway's location at the suggestion of Village Engineer John Eisenmann, and the board approved the plan.
The revised plan also reduced the size of the synagogue from 20,000 square feet to 12,000 square feet.

The site is within a mile of the homes of almost all the congregation's approximately 75 families. That's important because Jewish Orthodox tradition prohibits Kneseth Israel members from driving on the Sabbath. [enquirer]

you mean to say that the members of the shul listened to the town, moved the driveway, thus reducing the size of the shul, and they did not sue ?
No way that these people are Jewish !
Here in metro new york we would sue and cry ” anti semitisim ” and bring in Rabbi Sharpton as his boys, and force the village to see things our way.
good for you guys in Ohio !
