7 Children, 1 Adult Injured in Queens Bus Crash
NEW YORK (AP) — Officials say a private van taking children to school has collided with a city bus in Queens. Seven children have been injured, including a 5-year-old ejected through the van’s window.
New York City schools spokeswoman Debra Wexler says the 5-year-old is hospitalized in critical condition.
Police have been questioning a man in connection with the accident but no charges have been filed.
Wexler says the van was carrying children ages 5 to 12. Six were from Public School 178 in Queens and the seventh was going to a day care center.
There was no immediate word on injuries aboard the city bus. NYC Transit says the driver is hospitalized in stable condition.
The accident happened near Union Turnpike and 184th Street.

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A school bus and a city bus collided in Queens Friday morning injuring seven children and one adult.
Officials said the accident happened after 8 a.m. at the intersection of 184th Street and Union Turnpike.
The New York City Fire Department said three children were taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital.
Three others were taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital, one to Queens General Hospital and one to New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens.
