The following is a slideshow of images we have obtained from the Captain and his assistant, A1C Hyde, touring a c-17 Transport.
Teach your children Chumash and teach your children that there are many ways to serve Klal Yisrael. There are thousands of Jewish soldiers that need guidance, services, kosher food, Sedarim on Pesach, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Jewish marriages, Nichum Aveilim, unfortunately–at times–Chesed Shel Emes, the list goes on and on. We should be Makir Tov to the soldiers who are serving to protect our country and we should be Makir Tov to the U.S. Armed Forces Chaplains who serve them. Tnach, you and I both share the same Torah that includes Hakaras Hatov and the idea that we are responsible for each other. That’s why you must tell your children about these people.
Teach out children about the army? Do you guys learn chumash at all?
Not to take away from him, but he is not the first Orthodox Jewish Chaplain in the U.S. Army. Look into it. There are now and have been other fine Frum Jews who served Klal Yisroel and the U.S. over the years.
It is something that is not taught to our children. We should all respect and serve our country in some way. We should at least show Hakaras Hatov to those who choose to do so by administering to the soldiers. This man is one of the distinguished Jewish Chaplains. Let’s educate the Klal about the rest.
That camouflage yarmulka adds a cool touch! Way to go!! Am yisroel chai!!!
A real Kiddush Hashem.
