Howell, NJ – Perp Sought in Armed Robbery of Jewelry Store

    Howell, NJ – Police are searching for a gray 2004 Acura TSX with New York license plates EDM5246 that has been used in yesterdays armed robbery of the jewelty store on Route 9.

    Reich Jewelers, located in the Grebow Shopping Center, 6796 Route 9 South on the border of Lakewood, was the subject of the armed robbery and theft, said Detective Eileen Dodd.

    The male suspect, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build, entered the store armed with a shotgun. There were two employees and two customers in the store at the time of the robbery. The perp kept the shotgun trained on the employees while demanding they should fill two duffel bags with jewelry from the display cases and the safe.
    He exited through the front of the store and drove out of the parking lot onto Route 9 south.

    the APP reported that police are in the process of reviewing the surveillance video from the store. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (732) 938-4575 ext 2883.

    Lakewood PD have just located the stolen car used in the robbery of Reich Jewelers. The vehicle was stolen from Boro Park, Brooklyn and was found in a wooded area near Miller Road.

    Anon. 10:33PM. You didn’t make detective grade, yet! To say that something is “fishy” doesn’t take any special skill. We ALL see that. The trick is to sort the facts [from the fantasies] and catch the perp/s!

    …this is an inside job. Maybe a delivery guy to a “jewler” in Boro park?… What do you think. Jewelry is delivered in a 3-axle, refrigerated truck?!

    Reminds me of an anti-semite in —lem, who never used the term Jeweler/Jewelry, because it reminded him of Jews… (true story!)

    maybe the car is owned by a lakewood person but registered in boro park by his in laws/ parents as many are . Ever think of that?

    car stolen in Boro park? This is a major clue. Boro park to Lakewood to pull off a heist like this?

    The car was recovered today off Miller Road in Lakewood.
