Though El Al has long had an audio channel with music by religious Jewish artists, this has fallen short of demands by fervently Orthodox clients for educational content.

"The company is certainly thinking of operating a special channel for the Orthodox sector on the VOD services on our planes. It is expected that establishment of the channel will take a few months," El Al as said in a statement.

The new channel, would likely include the traditional "Daf Yomi" lesson covering a page of the Talmud each day. [jta]

Just wait – within five years there will be huge machlokes about which daf yomi shiur to play. Someone will start noise about the maggid shiur not being a big enough talmid chochem or too modernish or too something else.

Mark this down somewhere. You heard it here first.

Can we just fly for a peaceful 10 hours?

Why does everyting with El AL have to be about noise, shirum, movies, screaming babies, eating, shachris, mincha , maariv….

Would everyone just close their mouth and stop getting out of hteir seat for a few hours? Is this too hard?

If I were just able to open the door mid flight I would.
