Masbia, funded primarily by private donations, opened its doors in Borough Park three years ago by serving eight meals per day. That number has increased to 160.
Masbia Executive Director Alexander Rapaport intends to open two branches in Flatbush and Williamsburg, where the need is even greater than in Borough Park, and says he does not intend to stop there. [nydailynews]
