Lakewood, NJ – Fire Damages Lakewood home; No Injuries Reported

    Lakewood, NJ – A Seventh Street home sustained heavy damage as a result of a Saturday evening fire.

    No one was injured in the blaze, which was first reported to Georgian Court security at about 4:30 p.m., said Sgt. John Stillwell of the Lakewood Police Department.
    After school security officials confirmed there was a fire, a general alarm was sounded and the Lakewood Fire Department responded. They found a fully involved fire at a single-family home.

    Members of the Lakewood and Hatzolah first aid squads also responded to the scene, but were not needed.
    Firefighters were continuing cleanup operations at 7:30 p.m. and the Ocean County Fire Marshall's Office is investigating. [APP]

    The house belongs to Rabbi Ribner, Rosh Hayeshiva from Nesivos Hatorah. A yeshiva in Staten Island.

    I live in Lakewood and heard the sounds of many fire engines late Shabbos afternoon, after 6:00. I also smelled smoke. I wonder if that was because of the fire on 7th St. I live about a mile north of there.
