New York, NY – Former Mayor David Dinkins is recuperating after having a pacemaker implanted today at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Weill Cornell Medical Center.

The DN’s Frank Lombardi spoke with Peter Johnson Jr., a longtime friend who was an unofficial senior adviser and speech writer for Dinkins when he was the 106th mayor from 1990 through 1993.
“I saw him today and he looked superb,” said Johnson. “He has a full schedule for next week and is looking forward to getting back to work.”
According to Johnson, Dinkins, who celebrated his 81st birthday on July 10, “felt winded” Tuesday while returning from an appointment at Columbia University, where he is a professor in the School of International and Public Affairs. He returned to his home and called his doctor, who urged him to go to the hospital.
Dinkins underwent a series of tests on Wednesday when a decision was made to implant a pacemaker. The surgery was performed this morning, and Dinkins is now back in his regular hospital room, where his wife, Joyce, has been by his side throughout his hospitalization, said Johnson.
Dinkins has a history of heart problems, including undergoing surgery for a triple-bypass in 1995 at the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center. He had fainted after playing tennis at nearby Hilton Head, where he was vacationing.
An avid tennis player and fan, Dinkins also had a heart attack in 1985, but recovered and went on to become the city’s first African-American mayor by beating then-Mayor Ed Koch in the Democratic primary and then narrowly defeating Republican-Liberal Rudy Giuliani in the general election.

It is still hard to imaging how someone can reach such a high level of city service while living a criminal life. he failed to file tax returns – criminal tax fraud.

He allowed Crown Heights to explode, he allowed his fellow Afric Amer to boycott a Korean grocery for months , he allowed public assistance to go from deserving to non deserving just because of color, he fostered a an aura of permissiveness to the Blacks, he owuld have had NYC become Detroit. May he drop dead tomorrow.
Personally, whether he (david dinkins) has, or doesn’t have a pacemaker (Peacemaker?) is of little concern to me. He brought us “Crown Heights”, where, to placate his radical, murderous, racist friends, he let al sharpton YMSH”V incite the “populace” to riot! And murder! Yankel Rosenbaum HY”D, and a man of Italian descent, who had grown a [long] beard and those murdering punks thought he was Jewish, shouted “kill the Jew”, and pulled him out of his car and beat him to death! Just answer one question, you WRA;(Editor; you can take this term out, if you please. I was just too angry. I used Bob Grant’s definition for him; Meaning “Wash-Room Attendant”. b.w..). How could you permit a simple car accident, of the kind that happen everyday, especially in the black neighborhoods, to turn into a week of riot, murder and mayhem!!! Furthermore, if you play the race card, the driver of the (midsize, Olive Green Oldsmobile) vehicle that pushed Lifsh’s station wagon onto the sidewalk, [unfortunately] killing one of the Cato children, was a black man!!!
In case some readers are wondering, what this thing about a midsize Oldsmobile, is about. The answer is, that there was another car involved in the accident. MR. Lifsh, (his first name escapes me at the moment) the driver of the station wagon, that [regrettably] passed a CHANGING-to-Red, light.
The early clips of the newscasts showed that car. It was later edited out, and was substituted with the scene of the [Black] Cop picking up the childrens’ bike, over and over again! [by the networks] (which did not contribute to calming the situation). If memory serves well, I recall the biased way the accident was reported in the Media!, where [most of] the newscasters failed to mention the fact that the passing sta. wagon was hit by another car. Otherwise, the [obvious] question is asked. How is it possible that just by passing a Red light he ended up on the sidewalk, where the children were playing! One of the other hatemongers, a so-called “Reverend”, who, BTW did time in a NJ prison for armed robbery was heard on the radio shouting …”The next stop [for the rioters] is W—!!!

I was not a Dinkins fan back in the day, but this shouldn’t be an opportunity to baredt the man.
He’s an elderly man with a heart condition. When non Jews hear and see how we speak amongst ourselves about others, it’d no wonder there is antisemitism.
