“We’ll have to see how events unfold in Israel, should Mr. Netanyahu become prime minister, and it will be our point of view that this remains a very important element of our approach and our policy,” Rice told National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” program.

But she added, “Both parties have to want to work in that direction.”

Netanyahu, 59, leads the hawkish Likud party, which backs a two-state solution, but says any future Palestinian state must be demilitarized and have limited power.

With the new Government to be formed now, with the right wing in control the US will have to keep on “singing” this song for the next 4 years while there is no chance of it happening with a Right Win Gov.

But the US must keep singing the same song, to prove to the Arabs that “it’s trying” and “it’s not the US’s fault” that there is no chance of it happening.

The US actually wants Israel to reject it’s demands.

But “Leponim” the US has to “play tough” to show the Arabs that they are on their side.

A two state solution would be possible with Livni but not with Bibi…By’h if he is unsucessful from a government becuause YB won’t be together with the hareidim because of the civil marriage issue, they will have to ask Tzipi to be the new PM>

I don’t understand this at all, before ’67 the land we want to give them belonged to jordan. So how can we give away land that’s not even ours?? Mimu nafshuch, if it’s ours why give it away. And if it’s “occupied territory” how does the world expect us to return it to the wrong people??? Anyone with an explanation here??

Because jordan is not interested in having the land. Simple enough?
And in reallity, how painfull it is to hear, the only way out of this is by giving them full control. Of course there is another way, that khan approach of kill them all, but sofar they are here. They were there all years of first temple, and were a problem then to. They had jerusalem up on till king david took it, so historically speaking even jerusalem was not allways ours. So suck it up.we do not have a bais hamikdush anyway, wjy keep that troubled area?

This government is not a friend to Israel. It’s not a friend to the Jews in the US. We’re in for very tough times & I’m not talking about the economy.

To comment #11 . Kahane’s solution was not to kill them all. That’s the mizrachi hardline ichud leumi way of thinking, and it’s totally insane. Instead, kahane’s solution was the one the government is trying to do to the misnachlem today, namely pay them for leaving. He built a plan to place a certain amount of palestinians into each of the western countries plus give them money to build themselves up. And it’s still applicable if you ask me! Raging war against them constantly won’t work forever, and giving them land and power will only make it worse, as most of them are in to wipe israel off the map. So even if you make peace with this leader or that, and he does mean it seriously, he will fast be thrown over and occupied by militants like the chamas. Just like what they’re afraid of in pakistan and in a lower flame in egypt. So as long as our neighbors are here there is no chance whatsoever to live in peace!!! So or we pack ourselves away, or we send them away nicely Kahane style. Any other step is check-mate, PERIOD!!!
