A Yad L’achim representative be invited to the Chinese Interior Ministry conference at the suggestion of the Chinese ambassador in Israel. The invitation sent to the organization stated, “Yad L’achim’s expert who is active against destructive cults is carrying out an extremely important task.” Yad L’achim agreed to send Rav Kluger because a number of the cults which China is trying to eradicate exist in Israel and have ensnared a number of Jews. Full expenses were paid by the Chinese government.

In China, the conference included 40 anti-cult experts from around the world and the program featured workshops and symposiums. Rav Kluger’s contribution was to show the methods used by the cults to ensnare adherents, and the successful counter-methods which Yad L’achim had developed over its decades of fighting cults.

Rick Ross, a Jewish world expert on the subject from America who has been called “America’s number one cult buster”, said at the conclusion of the conference that the “strategic tactics of Yad L’achim in Israel is worth a scientific study by itself.”

Rabbi Sholom Dov Lipschitz, the director Yad L’achim, said ironically, “If the Israeli authorities would learn from the Chinese how to react strongly against the cults, the cult missionaries wouldn’t dare lift their heads. Unfortunately, the Chinese understand what the Israelis don’t yet understand.”

And aish HaTorah is not borderline cult in your opinion only certain Chabad and Satmer. I didn’t know Satmar had outreach Bal Teshuvah programs. In truth none of them are borderline cult they are very open and they do not use coercive tactics to keep people in.

#1 is a J4T – a Jew for Trolling. He’s just trying to rile everyone up; pay him no heed.

If anything the choice and participation of Yad l’Achim will make it clear to China that the Chabad Houses throughout China are not missions and perhaps one day will be exempted from some of the regulations meant to control missionary activity there.

What Rabbi Lipchitz is saying the Satmar Rebbe ZT”L said the same, but with one difference. What Chinese understand the Israelis will never want to understand.

The truth is that this does smack of asking YLA to assist with repression of the Falun Gong – but this Falun Gong is a strange cult whose followers go into all kinds of trances in public and it probably is a harmful cult along the lines of Moonie or Challa Kishka*.

It has spread outside of China (I am not anywhere near China and I see Falun Gong people in my local park every day) and if YLA being involved keeps even one Yid from getting caught up in Falun Gong, then yasher koiach.

*Name of cult intentionally mangled to avoid typing what is either two names of getschkes or perhaps means “yechi (getschke)”.

First of all, there’s no such thing as fighting cults. Every cult and belief has its own fundaments and bases and beliefs, it’s like bringing down an expert on fish for elephants…… The fortunate part for yad le’achim is that it’s in a war against christianity, which is and can be proved false and unbased and full of nonsense. Just imagine one of the other 40 anti cult experts called to fight against judaism, i bet he’ll fail right from the beginning!!
Second, yad le’achim isn’t in any form an anti cult group. It does not fight against any group of people that believe in any cult, in our case christianity. Has anyone ever seen even one sign or advertisement from yad le’achim against jesus or any of their so called saints? I didn’t!! The only thing they do is hold onto their own people that come from the jewish religion and forced into changing their religion because of financial or other means. That does not mean war against cults!! It has no interest whatsoever, at least publicly, to wipe christianity off Earth. So what’s the connection??

YLA is against ANY machshovo zoro that attempts to deceptively ensnare Yidden. IIRC they fight Scientology and similar garbage as well as the missionaries and j4j.
