The girls stood with determination and focus as Councilman David Weprin spoke out against the Iranian president and expressed outrage over the fact that Ahmadinejad was welcomed in the United States and that millions of taxpayers’ dollars were spent to protect him during his visit here. He said “Ahmadinejad is not welcome in the United States.”

Assemblyman Dov Hikind spoke forcefully against the Iranian president, referring to him as a modern-day Hitler, and “a Holocaust denier who has vowed to wipe Israel off the map.” Rabbi Zev Friedman called Ahmadinejad “the most dangerous man alive” and said that Iran is “the greatest threat to world peace today.”

The protesters shared their message with the world at large, as the event was covered by CBS, NBC, Fox News, Italian TV, Voice of Democracy, and various other news stations in New York and Washington. The Shalhevet students felt it was important to make their voices heard. Tenth grader Devora Eisenberg said, “As Jews, we have to stand up and fight for what’s right. At Shalhevet, we are taught to go out against the forces of evil.”

No thats not the way to do it. he’s not like hitler he’s just another arab fighting with israel. and i’m not saying he’s good he’s evil & crazy, but thats not the way to do it. we just look like extremists when we over do it. everybody already knows we’re against ahamadinejad. obama doesnt hate israel he just has a different point of view and maybe he is right.

For all of yours information, Touro College for girls canceled all morning classes so that their students can attend this rally. Kol Hakovod Lahem. And it is for this day alone that I’m sooo happy there’s a CBS, NBC and the likes.

I personally know one of the girls who protested and i would like to say a few things…
a- please give me a posek in the Torah where it says that woman have to stay at home and are not allowed out!!!
b- at this day in age instead of criticizing the girls we should be thankfully that someone did research found out this mass murder and stood up for him
c- the person who commented under yoyeli- if you believe that woman should sit at home and have kids and implying that men should learn are u implying we should just let this mass murderer walk and talk to people in the United nations that is ridicules.
c- setting aside what he says to about taking Israel off the map and the Holocaust this is the man that is a dictator and a horrible man he does not run his country well he disposes reports who oppose him, no freedom, and is very harsh! look it up
d- he says the Holocaust never existed take a look in Washington dc or Israel there are two very moving establishments and how about the concentration camp in Poland or the survives. Practically my whole family was wiped out by the Holocaust i will not let it happen again and if to stop millions of people from dying the price you have to pay is a few Jewish girls making a kiddush hashem, saying their point, and rallying i would rather the later option unless you can think of an alternative because this Achmadinjad filth still spoke in our country and well we have the chance to get up there and fight for what we believe in because we are very fortunate to be in such a tolerant country then we should! If you believe that is should not have been girls that any man could have gotten up their and rallied and held a prews confrence also it was not siclusive.

As a RsohYeshiva of mine stated in the 60s are you going to protest to make you feel better or to help the situation-the effectiveness of protests of this kind is very questionnable. Perhaps the girls of Shalhevet should protest againstt those who have push away many HS kids from Yahadus-that is a problem not maever layam.

These Girls are Bnos Melachem, and I am very proud that they could show the world how a Frum girl acts with grace and courage. May the walk in the footsteps “fun der Shoifetes Devora.” Who in her days the whole Klal Yisroel Kept the Torah.

How many of you are going to make believe you never heard of KOL KEVUDA BAS MELECH PENIMA.The Chasam Sofer says that ladies dont light Chanuka candles bec. it wasent fitting for them to stand around outside with all the men, that being at the expense of personally performing a mitzvah that woman are equally obligated in.Now this doesnt mean its not a worthy cause thats a whole seperate question.BUT LETS CALL A SPADE A SPADE YOUR NOT QUESTIONING WHERE CHAZAL PROHIBIT SUCH A THING YOUR QUESTIONING WHY.

Amazing that you say that- the girls in shalhevet happen to be involved in kiruv and as well.
Kiruv Rechokim will not take away from the damage that is caused by Richuk Krovim-the sending away from the machene ofthose who were part of it.

Seems that concern for klal yisroel is something that is stressed there.
Klal Israel except for local Klal Israel.

Halvai that all yeshivas should teach the same lessons
The importance of demonstrating?-versus open disdain of not caring what happens to weakerday school students who are sent chutz lemachene.
