Tucson, AZ – The suspect being held over Saturday’s shooting of US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords may have links to anti-Semitic race hate group American Renaissance.

An internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) memo quoted by FOX News Channel revealed the gunman – named by the media as Jared Loughner, 22 – is “possibly linked” to American Renaissance.
The group subscribes to an ideology that is “anti-government, anti-immigration, anti -ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government), anti-Semitic,” according to the DHS memo.
Giffords “is the first Jewish female elected to such a high position in the US government. She was also opposite this group’s ideology when it came to immigration debate,” the note said.
The suspect’s mother works the Pima County Board of Supervisors in Arizona, the briefing added.
The DHS confirmed that the FBI have now taken over the investigation.
Giffords, who was wounded after being shot in the head from close range, remains in critical condition in the hospital Sunday.
Six other people died and 13 were wounded in the shooting.

The congress woman is not Jewish. The congresswoman is the daughter of a Jewish father and a non-Jewish mother. In 2001, then a state senator, Giffords traveled to Israel on a trip sponsored by the American Jewish Committee. It was that trip, she said, that solidified her connection to her Jewish roots and her commitment to living as a Jew.
“I was raised not to really talk about my religious beliefs,” Giffords said, in an interview with Jewish Woman magazine. ”Going to Israel was an experience that made me realize there were lots of people out there who shared my beliefs and values and spoke about them openly.”
Giffords is an active member of Congregation Chaverim, a Reform synagogue in Tucson, where she said Rabbi Stephanie Aaron is her spiritual mentor. She is also among five members of Congress to serve on United States Holocaust Memorial Council. from forward.com

The shooter assasin in this case is typical of the disgruntled lone wolf, loser, predatory type deviant, who we’ve seen going back many years, whether it was Booth who killed Lincoln, Guiteau who killed Garfield, Cgolgosz who killed McKinley, Zangara who tried to kill FDR, but killed Mayor Cermak of Chicago, Oswald who killed JFK, Ray who killed Martin Luther King, Sirhan Sirhan who killed Bobbie Kennedy, Bremer who tried to kill George Wallace, Sara Jane Moore and Squeaky Frohm who each tried to kill Ford, and Hinckley who tried to kill Reagan.
Palin’s use of the “cross-hairs” graphic makes her culpable. As some of may have learned from the past, symbols matter. Rep. Giffords’ Tuscon office was vandalized several times last summer during the health care debate, encouraged by Palin-rightist vitriolic hatred for improving the lives of regular people in this nation.
That organization takes issue with assertions written here. As you can see on their website, they deny he was ever a member or attended any of their conferences. They say they never condone the use of violence nor are they anti semitic. They deny ever using the term ‘ZOG’ and they say that they have had several Jewish speakers at their conference and welcome Jewish members. So you have to listen to the other side of the story.
