Manhattan, NY – The borough that had the least amount of problems from the December blizzard got a chance to weigh-in Thursday night on the city’s botched storm response.

The City Council held their third meeting at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building in Harlem.
The meeting was much more subdued than those already held on Staten Island and in Brooklyn. However, many New Yorkers are still demanding an answer as to why some roads weren’t properly plowed.
“I cried yesterday when I saw that man on TV with his wife passing because he could not get help for her. I mean that was a high price to pay for that snow storm. And, it didn’t have to happen, because we’ve had snow storms before. They cleaned the sidewalks and streets. What happened this time?” said Manhattan resident Whitley May Anderson.
“What happened ? Why did two people perish ? Why were not chains on the buses? Why were there not chains on the ambulances?” said City Councilwoman Inez Dickens.
Dozens who showed up to the hearing Thursday complained about the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and its handling of buses that became stuck.
The next meeting takes place at noon at Queens Borough Hall.
Governmental officials do not like to admit wrongdoing, because of the potential for liability claims. NYC will probably quietyly make changes to its snow responses in the future, but it will not admit to any wrongdoing.
