Imam Abdallah Adhami also urged Muslims to “compete” with other religions.

“We must be doing it first, we must compete with you to be doing more of that. We want to fast Ashura too, because that’s the day God saved Moses; that is certainly a day to be celebrated. We have more right to Moses,” stated Adhami in a 2008 lecture obtained and reviewed by WND.

Ashura is an Islamic fast day that commemorates Muslim events, including the Islamic claim that Moses fasted on that day to express gratitude to God for liberating the Israelites from Egypt.

In his lecture, Adhami recounted the Islamic story of the Muslim figure Muhammad arriving in Medina, where he encountered Jews who fasted on Ashura and asked them why they were celebrating the holiday.

This has to be the funniest joke I’ve heard in a long time.

Fasting Ashura? Ashura in arabic means 10, is he referring to Yom Kippur which is on the 10th day of Tishre?

If he is, then he certainly has no idea what he’s talking about!

Bottom line – he’s an idiot

“In his lecture, Adhami recounted the Islamic story of the Muslim figure Muhammad arriving in Medina, where he encountered Jews who fasted on Ashura and asked them why they were celebrating the holiday”.

This means that he admits to the fact that Muhammad had no freakin’ idea untill then that there was such a thing called “Ashura”.

So if he just found out then, how come he has more right to this more than the Jews?

Let him go up to Mt Sinai and see if G-D will speak to him. More than likely if G-D does, he will come down begging for mercy and forgiveness from G-D’s chosen people.

A bit of history: Ashura is the 10th day Muharram, the first month.
From one of the hadiths (Muslem text):
“The Prophet came to Medina and saw the Jews fasting on the day of Ashura. He asked them about that. They replied, “This is a good day, the day on which Allah rescued Bani Israel from their enemy. So, Moses fasted this day.” The Prophet said, “We have more claim over Moses than you.” So, the Prophet fasted on that day and ordered (the Muslims) to fast (on that day).”
As occurs a number of times with the founder of Islam, he confused a number a Jewish practices (like Yom Kippur) and took them for his own purposes.
1,300 years later, and they continue the same practice.
We don’t have Moshe, we were never in Jerusalem, Rachel’s Tomb is now a Palestinian historical site, etc., etc.
