National Weather Service forecasters were predicting dangerous wind chills of -1 to -5 degrees from Sunday night into early Monday morning.

They were also warning that “a significant winter storm” could hit the city on Tuesday and Wednesday.

New York, which generally sees about 21 inches per winter, has gotten more than 36 so far this season. Much of that fell in a two-day December blizzard that dumped 20 inches on some parts of the city.

The temperature Saturday was below freezing at 24 degrees with a wind chill near zero, but it was expected to plummet to an icy 10 Sunday night.

The way this article is written, one would think that New Yorkers were living in Siberia! In Minnesota and North Dakota, people routinely experience severe and harsh winters. The same holds true for Canada and Alaska. Yet, New Yorkers are always kvetching and complaining. In the summer, New Yorkers also complain when it is too hot and humid.

Really tough “prediction” to make as the weather outside is presently so cold my snot is freezing up.

Let’s see you make these “predictions” a few weeks in advance, as opposed to “predicting” there will be a cold spell when it is -10 degrees outside.
