Brooklyn, NY – Councilmember Brad Lander who has been working tirelessly to improve the quality of life of the 39th district to create and to better its current green space. 39th District encompasses a large swath of South Brooklyn, including Kensington and a significant portion of Boro Park.
Along with Borough President Marty Markowitz, Councilman Lander allocated $400,000.00 for the first phase of Dome Playground restoration. They are hopeful that they will be able to secure additional funding in time to begin the second phase of this project.

Dome Playground is located by 38th Street between 15th Avenue and Dahill Avenue and serves a diverse population of surrounding communities. Indeed, the playground is often frequented by families of all sizes from Boro Park and Kensington. The playground boasts a very large lawn that welcomes groups of children to conduct activities in a safe outdoor environment. The benches around the park facilitate leisurely resting for all. The playground also features a very popular basketball court.
In order for the community have maximum input into what ultimately gets included in the playground restoration , Councilman Lander would like the community to attend a community listening session that will be held Thursday, February 24; 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in PS 179, located at 202 Avenue C, at the corner of East 3rd Street.
All are welcome to share their ideas with representatives of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. This is the chance to voice what facilities and programs one may want in the park.
Brad Lander in his unassuming manner is an extremely effective advocate for our community. Whoever meets him in person realizes that he is a rare kind in politics and whoever is his constituent is lucky!
Keep up your good work BRAD!!!
