The 192-member world body elected the 67-year-old South Korean diplomat Tuesday as U.N. chief for another five years starting Jan. 1.
Ban has pledged to keep leading the world body as a “bridge-builder” at a time of global change.
He has been criticized for lacking charisma and failing to criticize human rights abuses in powerful countries such as China and Russia.
But Ban has won praise for his commitment to climate change, nuclear disarmament and women’s issues, his strong backing of pro-democracy movements in North Africa and the Middle East, and for military intervention in Ivory Coast and Libya.
I was gonna say that he’s wortless and not much better than his predecessor, but then i realized they’re ALL the same biased hateful worthless people…..
What a worthless organization.
time to close the door on this worthless org.
Worthless implies it is useless, not worth the expense but fairly impotent and benign.
It is much worse than “worthless’-it is a dangerous hot bed of anti-semitism, anti-Americanism, and full of spies and criminals with “immunity’, be it disregard for parking violations, sexual attacks, etc. Shut it down NOW. It’s few (very few) good things (food to starving African kids, etc, this function can be taken over by some other Bureau-Maybe NATO- they can’t even beat down a few libyan trouble-makers- so maybe they can go out on holoween and collect $ for kids, if they can handle that.
