The New York Police Department has spent nearly $2 million, mostly in overtime pay, to patrol the lower Manhattan protest in recent weeks.

And with no end in sight, the price tag will continue to rise at a time when Mayor Michael Bloomberg has ordered city agencies to slash budgets.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly has said the budget cuts may cause the cancellation of a new class of police officers entering the academy in January.

Several hundred protesters briefly marched through the Wall Street neighborhood Monday evening. The Rev. Al Sharpton and rapper Kanye (KAHN’-yay) West also made impromptu appearances at a park where protesters gathered.

Since Mayor Bloomberg says it’s okay for them to stay, he should pay the NYPD OT out of his PERSONAL FORTUNE.

There are several frum bochurim at the protest wearing kipot. We should find out if they need assistance with kosher food and perhaps invitations to local homes for yom tov. I don’t know if they have a minyan at the park.

Bloomberg now is your opportunity to add a new tax and blame it on the protestors.

What are they complaining about these overaged hippies such as the senior citizen group ‘The Raging Grannies’? Their man is in the White House, what more do they want?

The other major expense that the residents of New York will have to carry is the vastly increase cost of sanitation to clean up after this dirty, smelly degenerates. It’s also in the millions.
