Some NIS 30 million (about $8 million) will be invested in the project, which was initiated by the Atarim company, which develops the city’s tourist sites and is co-owned by the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Tourism Ministry.

The company will set up a night film screening and culture complex in the northern part of the port. The plan is to hold cultural events, rock concerts, art exhibitions, video-art, etc.

This should be a great addition to the Tel Aviv “scene” and will bring in more tourist dollars. They should also consider how to add a similiar tourist focal point for Yerushalayim with appropriate limits to reflect the more conservative minhagim and norms in that city compared to Tel Aviv

Great, tel aviv is just what we need in the holy land. About ten years ago it was off limits to normal people at night due to propositions from prostitutes.

More tourists means more business. More business means more money. With more money you can have more learning. You cannot have one without the other. The shande is that not enough Israelis partner with someone to learn on their behalf.

Who could be so narrow minded to suggest that a major tourist attraction and national place of interest not be build in a nation of many places of learnign becuase there just is not another place to learn on every corner. C’mon. We are jewish, not cracker jack bookworms.

8 million sounds like a very cheap project. 8 million will only buy you 4 large LCD displays in Times Square.
