Eli Cohen is known as one of Israel’s greatest spies, who infiltrated the highest levels of the Syrian government in the 1960s and was publicly hanged in Damascus in 1965.

According to the paper, Israel, with the cooperation of Jordan, also is laying the groundwork for a possible Israeli-American operation in Syria.

The paper writes, “The Jordanian tribal front warned that there exists secret contacts between Israel and dissident commanders from the Syrian army, with support from some Jordanian circles.” The story went on to mention that the Arab tribes “facilitated the exit of dissident Syrian commanders to the occupied territories.”

The Jordanians were aware of meetings that took place between the dissident commanders and the Israeli officials in Jordan that were meant “to prepare for an American-Zionist plan in Syria in order to protect the borders of the occupied Golan.”

Hard to fathom the Olam Habah of this man. There is no man who did more and gave more to help fellow Jews. It would be wonderful if Israel could find him and bring him home.

The holy Medinah and kudesh Eli Kohn. The holy America also had spies that were executed in their service of duty. And so did the Russians and the Germans.

Being patriotic for a cause doesn’t make the cause Holy or the victim a kudesh. Its simple as it is, strong people were always ready to sacrifice their lives for ideology and goal.

Kedoshim are thee. Ones who lost their lives because they were executes because of their Judaism and religious beliefs. The millions of jews that gave their lives throughout history. Including the six million that were exterminated during world war two, and could have been rescued by the Holy Median that did nothing ! The holy median that blocked every attempt to negotiate their precious lives. (Min hamitzer, Wiesmandel;, exerts of the Niderbergs trial;, and Kostner study).

Further, it has been proven that the holy Medinah knew at the last return of Eli to Syria that his life his in real danger, that his cover has been abolished. The Holy leaders of the Medinah didn’t feel that they have to pre warn him. Rather let him go and be hanged.

A man that didn’t die for Judaism, is in no way a kudesh. He died for a country like the other nations. All have their list of kedoishim.

On the other hand, if he was executed because the Syrians wanted to kill him because he was a jew, I agree that despite all the above he is indeed a kudesh. And so were Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who lost their lives spying for mother Russia. But it has been discovered since that they were executed more because they were jews. They were in no way the spies that deserved to die but did so because of their roots.

I don’t know why anyone beleives this story. It looks like an Arab newspaper wants to discredit the rebels by claiming they are speaking with Israel. It’s highly doubtful this is true.

Article should have been done without the picture. It is disrespectful and in bad taste

Can people here identify which group of yidden they are a part of when making sickening comments. I mean have some decency before maligning people who gave their lives for Israel. The more people like you open your mouths, the more people like me are tempted to despise what much of frum judaism seems to have become. If you atleast identify yourself with a certain group, I can just write your group off as twisted abberations instead of being upset at judaism.
