Police and fire officials say the accident occurred at 3:55 a.m. Monday on the ramp on the Brooklyn side of the bridge.

The injured were transported to a hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The crash closed the westbound BQE ramp to the westbound Williamsburg Bridge, causing huge delays for the morning commute.

Commercial traffic was forced to use the Manhattan Bridge.

This photo look slike it was taken at the Roebling entrance, a secondary entrance to the bridge. There have been lane improvements, nevertheless this entrance can be problematic to drivers. This is stated without any knowledge of what really happened.
