FILE - Joseph Lhota waves from the Senate galley after his confirmation vote as chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, at the Capitol in Albany, N.Y., on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012. APNew York – Former deputy mayor and mayoral candidate Joe Lhota fired back Wednesday at former mayor David Dinkins’ over comments in his upcoming book charging that racism played a major role in his elections, saying that “Dinkins is doing a disservice to New Yorkers by reducing the debate to indictable comments about race.”

Lhota said, “Dinkins is wrong to claim that is why he lost the election. Both Democrats and Republicans voted him out because he was incapable of running the city.”

Lhota, who previously served as deputy mayor to Rudy Giuliani, cited the city’s sky-high crime, its more than 2,000 murders annually, record welfare rolls, and violent riots that occurred on Dinkins’ watch as reasons why Dinkins lost.

Lhota quoted old headlines and editorials from the Dinkins era like, “Dave, Do Something!” and that New York City was “ungovernable” and “unmanageable.”

About his own current candidacy Lhota said, “When I am mayor, I will have an open door with every community and represent every New Yorker equally. The fact of the matter is, people from all political persuasions and ethnicities voted Mr. Dinkins out of office. He owes all New Yorkers an apology.”

Spoke to someone who worked for the city during DInkins administration. He was an awful mayor; he nearly bankrupted the city and used city jobs as a favor to friends, regardless of competence.
He lost because he deserved to lose!

Dinkins was partially correct – he was elected Mayor in 1989 because of racism. Reverse racism, that is – he was elected BECAUSE he was black, not because he was competent. And he was thrown on in 1992 not because he was black but because he was utterly incompetent. But its much easier to just cite to racism. It gets people going and they don’t have to think about issues.

You sometimes wonder why people like David Dinkins cann’t just leave in piece, they have to blame the world for thier failure but thier non actions.

Four full days of riots or as we called it a POGROM and then stated “let them vent” is not a good enough reason for Dinkins to lose the reelection, losing control of the city and handing it over to the race hustler Sharpton (he is just as a reverand as we have some who call themselfs Rabbi).

Radio hosts Bob Grant, Barry Gray, Jay Diamond, John Gallagher, Steve Malzburg, Editorial, OP-Ed, Opinion and Guest writers such as A.M Rosenthal, Steve Dunlevy, Lolly Waymouth and the late Eric Briendel-we miss you all, at a time when the nation has gone crazy under the current administartion and so has the city of New York your opinion and facts would have lightened us up and keep our faith.

    So,

White people voting for Guiliani against Dinkins: racist.
Black people voting for Dinkins against Guiliani: not racist.

    Yes, that makes sense.

He and sharpton have the blood of Yankel rosenbaum’s a’h on their hands.
he allowed the chayas to burn down crown heights,in the Pogrom and DID NOTHING.

Hey Dinkins, you lost because you were the worst Mayor New York ever had. Stop blaming racism and look at your total incompetence.
