A spokesperson at the NYPD told VIN News that 32 year old Javier Villarini and 77 year old Carlos Quinto were arrested on Thursday night and charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child and sexual abuse in the second degree.

Quinto, who owns the barbershop located at 1310 41st Street, was arraigned Thursday night and released without bail.

Villarini, who was employed as a barber, was arraigned on Friday with bail was set at $5,000 over $2,500.

The alleged abuse took place on September 11th but was not reported until October 9th. According to reports on ABC News, it took several weeks for the boy’s parents to come forward and contact the authorities.

Villarini allegedly lured the 16 year old victim into the barbershop, with the promise of letting him watch pornography on his cell phone. Once inside, both men reportedly fondled the teen.

The actual arrest was made by the sex crimes unit of The New York City Police Dept. The Brooklyn DA’s office declined to comment on the arrest.

“If this happened to one boy, it likely happened to two, or ten or twenty more,” NY Assemblyman Dov Hikind told VIN News. Hikind stressed the importance of reporting incidents of this nature to the authorities.

“The most important thing has always been not to run away or try to sweep things like this under the carpet. We should never be afraid to face these issues or deal with them. We have to remove people like this from the streets because if we don’t, the next victim could be your son or your daughter.”

Hikind also praised the teen’s parents for notifying law enforcement of the alleged abuse.

“I am thrilled that the family of this boy went to the authorities, that to me is wonderful. Whether the perpetrator is a Jew or a non-Jew shouldn’t matter at all. What matters here is that they took action instead of pretending that nothing happened.”

Anyone with any information regarding this case is encouraged to call detectives at the 66th precinct at 718-851-5611.

What was the boy doing in a Goyishe barber shop?

Did the family consult with Daas Torah before going to the authorities?

Are we allowed to report if a non-Jew is the perp?
Should and could the community be outraged if the perp is not Jewish?
Is the damage to the victim less if the perp is Jewish or not Jewish?

Its forbidden for a jew to go to a goyisha barber. Second the victim consented to see the porn so what do you expect. If you look for trouble you will find it.

Even if these sickos are Jewish, which they aren’t, when are you idiots going to stop with this nonsense? I agree with #4 , wait till it happens to you & then see what the Rabbanim say…if you ask them.

I don’t see why it’s so pertinent to explain that they lured him w pornographic material. Who cares how he was lured?? Unless perhaps it’s a lesson for all ……

I strongly feel that Poskem in the Chassidish , Litvish, Ashkenazi and Sephardi communities should post guidelines as to what is and isn’t mesira. Also, in the situations where it is not mesira, there should be a kol koreh putting in cherem those who torment the victims who come forward. The way things stand now, the abusers are many times defended by our community and the victims are doubly punished-first by the purpertator, then by the community. This mishigas (and the tremendous chillul Hashem it brings ) has to stop.
I don’t believe Hashem condones the behavior of abusers-no matter who they are.

    To # 4, # 15, and # 19

You don’t prove or disprove amaratzus by simply accusing someone and engage in ad-hominem attacks. Rather you demonstrate and persuade, rather than insult as you two did.

The RambaM in Hilchos Rotzeah (12: 7-11) writes:
וכן אסור ליהודי להתייחד עם העובד כוכבים מפני שהן חשודים על שפיכות דמים.

    Furthermore he writes:

The Kesef mishna adds: that if he looks in the mirror and is assumed to be an “Adam Chashuv” then it is permitted… I don’t know that a young Chassidishe boy qualifies as Adam Chashuv…or whether he looks in the mirror.

As far as using a ‘goyish’ Doctor the RambaM writes:
אסור ליקח רפואה מן העובד כוכבים אלא אם כן נתייאשו ממנו שיחיה
Look at the Shulchan Aruch YD 155.
The scope of medical Halachos above are beyond the scope of this post

Once again, my comments and wit were lost on most.

Thank you #23 (puzzled) and # 28 (HeshyEmes) for elevating the conversation.
Thank you # 20 (qazxc) for coming to my defense.
