The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the airport, says the flights were arriving Wednesday morning and landed safely without any damage. No injuries were reported.
The FAA says both jets belonged to ExpressJet Airlines.
The first reported hitting a bird as the aircraft was turning to land just before 7:20 a.m. The FAA says there’s evidence that a bird hit the aircraft’s nose gear.
Just after 8:50 a.m., a second jet reported hitting a bird while taxiing after landing.
The Port Authority says its control tower received a report of a third bird strike involving a Delta Connection flight, but Delta says no bird strike occurred.
The FAA is investigating.
