The new vehicles, that will be used starting this month, have backup cameras and glass windows that give the drivers 15 percent better visibility, reports NY Daily News (http://nydn.us/1J30ZnB).

The Department will replace all 450 vehicles in the fleet over time; another 87 will be replaced next year in support of the mayor’s Vision Zero plan to lower the number of pedestrian and driver fatalities to zero.

Two people were killed within the last three years in in street sweeper-related accidents. Ronald Sinvil, 36, was killed in 2012 after walking too close to a sweeper in Brooklyn, and in 2014 sanitation worker Steven Frosch was run over by a sweeper in a Queens garage.

Hey, I have an idea! What about eliminating them (and alternate side parking) altogether, and teaching New Yorkers not to be disgusting slobs who throw their garbage down onto the ground? Many other cities survive very well without street sweepers and alternate side parking rules.

I remember when we had street sweepers that were human. They wore white uniforms and had white garbage cans and were respected by other citizens of the city.

NY is one of the dirtiest cities I have ever been in. Litter is everywhere. And what is worse? It’s KOSHER products. Heimish stuff. Why are we teaching our kids it’s ok to throw our potato chips, Bisli, and other snack bags on the floor?
Yes,there are trief products too but it is quite obvious which group the perpetrator belongs to if it’s Liebers, Gefen etc (goyim I know wouldn’t touch this “garbage” (their brands are so much better they say). So bottom line- why is NY so dirty and gross and what can we do about it? What can we teach our kids?? Do ourselves?
