“I am uploading this photo with tears in my eyes,” wrote Davidzon. “At 8:00 exactly, all of the Israelis stood for a minute’s silence without hearing the siren. It was not fun and it was not comfortable but that did not stop us from honoring the fallen who guarded over us.”

And I have tears in my eyes knowing that they’re most likely Jewish and have no clue about what being Jewish really means.

They have the Jewish Midah of Makir Tov and respecting those who gave their lives to defend Klal Yisroel. Somebody doesn’t have a clue, but the people on that plane know exactly what it means to be a Jew.

2&3. That is not a fair assumption. You can’t compare most Chiloni Israeli’s with non-religious Jews in the U.S. Their connection here and belief system is far greater, as is their knowledge base. While unfortunately, it is not where it should be, but their is hope for them.

As an example; someone’s son (Frum) was in serious condition in a car accident. A Chiloni friend came to the hospital and asked how she can help. She was asked to say Tehillim. This Chiloni woman, dressed very unsnius, took out a Tehillim from her pocketbook and said the entire Sefer cover to cover.

Show me one irreligious Jew anywhere else that would do that and how many of them even know what a Tehillim is, let alone carry one with them.

To #2 & #3 – you are both absolutely beyond belief. You have no idea what these people keep or don’t. YOU are so perfect? YOUR kids are perfect?

FTR I have flags flying on my balcony and I am Chareidi. Not all people who love this country are apikorsim. But the ones who fly Palestinian flags – you think they are better than Zionists? Stupid question – of course you do. Shame on you & all the other judgmental bigots.

    To #2 &3
…or you can look and say that this shows that the pintele yid is in everyone, no matter how far they are from yiddishkeit, and there is always hope.

Beautiful, reminds me of the story of an IAF fighter jet waiting to take off on a mission saving the likes of #2 here. The ground crew suddenly stopped everything leaving the pilot and navigator impatient, finally they realized he stopped in honor of the victims of the Holocaust which undoubtedly included the relatives of the ungrateful #2 here and his amen quarter.

It bothers me that so many people complain about remembering soldiers. Have all the problems you want with the Medina, but please do not disrespect people who have died protecting Yeshiva students and liberating the Kotel. Standing has become the way to show that appreciation.

    This is nice.
Whoever appreciates this should also appreciate when a yid wants to stand with his taalit/tfillin and daven for a quick smoineh esrai. At least as important!
Just making a point. Don’t shout me down. Thanks.
