BNEI BRAK (VINnews) — Dr. Abed Zahalka, an Arab ICU doctor at the Maayanei Hayeshua hospital in Bnei Brak, Israel, was conscripted for an unusual mission this week: Bringing a Torah scroll wrapped in a tallis into the coronavirus ward for the use of Orthodox Jewish patients.

Zahalka has served for many years in the ICU. Born in the small village of Kafr Kara, he has lived for the past few years in Petah Tikva and says that he feels very much at home not just in the hospital but in Bnei Brak. “I am often hosted by families around the city and feel part of them. I even know Jewish law pretty well by now.”
Zahalka was touched to help the coronavirus patients form a minyan: “I felt that I was strengthening my bond, that I am part of the place, the people, the tradition. I am a believing man and I see lots of believers and rabbis in Bnei Brak. I also think that there is a connection between faith and success in treatment. One sees people who just give up and others in a very difficult state who deal marvelously with the disease and recover.”
Kol hakovod, zol er zein gzezunt in stark
I always said there were wonderful people in Bnei Brak,
How fortunate that they have Arab nurses and doctors! Who respect religion as opposed to the anti religious secular Jews!!
70% of Israelis are Immigrants. They look and hope for the future where all people can live in Peace, unlike todays USA where White Male Supermacist MAGA people control the Government and Courts.
בזיון ספר תורה
I’ll gush and faint in ecstacy when Abbas and Hanieh do the same.
Unfortunately, MAGA don’t yet control the lib radical courts. But in 5 years we will.
