JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a clip released by Rav Asher Weiss, he urged exceptional caution despite the fact that the Israeli government has eased restrictions and opened the lockdown on workplaces and stores as well as allowing minyanim and mikvaos. Rav Asher stressed that Jewish values require us to be more careful for the welfare of older people and not take any unnecessary risks which could imperil them. Thus, even though minyanim are now permitted, Rav Asher ruled that porch minyanim are still preferable halachically at present, since as few people coming together is better.

Rav Asher asked “If we go into Mikves again, a hundred people together…do we have the power to adhere to the rules and see that they are followed…..please,please take care.” He therefore ruled that standing under the shower for five minutes constitutes Tevilas Ezra and is preferable at present to a Mikve.
So porch minyonim are safe?
