ATLANTA (VINnews) — Police released footage from the arrest and subsequent shooting of Raychard Brooks outside an Atlanta restaurant Friday night. The footage shows a police officer calmly approaching Brooks car which is blocking a drive-thru and asking him why he is there. Brooks is initially asleep and when he responds he appears disoriented. The policeman, Devin Brosnan, conducts a field sobriety test together with another officer summoned to the scene, Garret Rolfe.

After several tests, Rolfe asks Brooks how he feels on a scale of 1 to 10.
“I feel kind of good, sir,” Brooks says.
Rolfe then uses a Breathalyzer on Brooks, who explains he had been drinking and that it was his daughter’s birthday.
“I think you’ve had too much to drink to be driving,” Rolfe says. “Put your hands behind your back.”
At this point Brooks resists arrest and a scuffle ensues, captured by dashcam footage from the officers cruisers. At some point the officers warn Brooks that he will be Tased but Brooks grabs the officers Taser and runs away. Footage from the restaurant’s surveillance cameras show the fatal encounter in which Brooks appears to point the Taser at Rolfe, who reaches for his gun and fires at him.

We know that the police acted probably. If they would have let this drunken thug go, he would have driven under the influence and could have killed many people.

We need to demand that the Altnata police officer gets reinstated for doing his brave work. Enough of this lawlessness. This kind of violence whereby a police officer’s life is at risk is unacceptable. In such a situation the police need to shoot to kill no questions asked. In fcat any looting or thug like behavior, shoot to kill.
A ban on all Floyd protests need to be enacted immediately. Yes this democracy where peaceful protests are allowed but protests without permits that end unpeacefuly are not allowed.

Why won’t they reopen Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn? They closed it to the public, allegedly, so the City can park their dormant busses there. Now wait a minute. It’s a FEDERAL National Park. How can the corrupt MTA come in there and shut it down to the taxpayers???
He was running away. They had his car, his name and his address. He had not killed anybody; why chase and kill him?
