NEW YORK (VINnews) — Former US First Lady Michelle Obama revealed on her podcast (dubbed The Michelle Obama podcast) that she is suffering from “low-grade depression” due to the pandemic, racial injustice and the “hypocrisy” of the Trump administration. Obama said that managing “emotional highs and lows” required “knowing yourself” and “the things that do bring you joy”.

Obama described the physical effects of her depression, noting that she has difficulty maintaining her exercise routine and was not sleeping well.
“I’m waking up in the middle of the night because I’m worrying about something or there’s a heaviness. I try to make sure I get a workout in, although there have been periods throughout this quarantine, where I just have felt too low.”
“These are not, they are not fulfilling times, spiritually,” Mrs Obama added. “I know that I am dealing with some form of low-grade depression.
“Not just because of the quarantine, but because of the racial strife, and just seeing this administration, watching the hypocrisy of it, day in and day out, is dispiriting.”
Obama said that it is “exhausting” to be “waking up to yet another story of a black man or a black person somehow being dehumanised, or hurt, or killed, or falsely accused of something, and it has led to a weight that I haven’t felt in my life, in a while.”
She also discussed her frustration with people who refuse to wear masks. “There’s almost like there’s a limit to our sacrifice and it was about a month and then we just got tired of the virus,” she said. “That’s been disheartening to see so many people who have grown tired of staying at home because the virus didn’t impact them.”
However Obama stressed that maintaining a routine and schedule is the key to managing feelings of depression and added that people should be aware that “we are in a unique moment in history… We are living through something that no one in our lifetimes has lived through.”

The answer is that it is not caused by others, but self dehumanising, just as the former First Lady is self diagnosing.

What the heck does she have a reason to be depressed for? She has round the clock Secret Service protection for life; and, she and her husband are very well off financially. She doesn’t know what real depression is, compared to how other Americans are suffering. The average American who has lost his or her job doesn’t have enough money to pay for rent, food, clothing, medical care, etc. What chutzpah she has in complaining about depression! Incidentally, what did she and Barack in eight years do for the Black community, with the exception of having a “Beer Summit”, with Professor Henry L. Gates, and the Cambridge, MA cop, who arrested him?

Do you remember she wasn’t proud of this country, she sat for ten years at a place of worship that had nothing good to say about the US. She and her husband had 8 years in office and did nothing for the average American, only did for themselves (now millionaires). OF COURSE she is depressed. When you accomplish nothing, you feel like nothing. I guess you earned it.
