Watch: Festive 40th Siyum Of The Rambam At Sultan’s Pool, Jerusalem

2

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Thousands of Lubavitch chasidim celebrated Monday night in Jerusalem the end of the 40th cycle of study of the Rambam, a study which was initiated by the Lubavitcher Rebbe 40 years ago. The year-long study of 3 daily chapters from the Rambam is a practice widely adopted by chasidim and by many others who make it a focal point of their daily study.

The siyum (conclusion celebration) was attended by many prominent rabbis, including the Admorim of Zvill, Boyan, Modzitz, Pinsk Karlin and Sadigora, as well as Jerusalem Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar and other public leaders. The siyum was performed by Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik Landa, the rabbi of Bnei Brak, who followed the tradition of his father and grandfather Z’tsl who had performed previous siyumim.

Many of the rabbis spoke at length about the importance of the Rebbe’s initiative and encouraged the Chabad leaders to strengthen the daily study of the Rambam, stating that “study of Rambam can lead a person to fear of Heaven and should be a part of the study in yeshivos and kollelim.”

Wow, they have photos of how they invited R. Sternbuch, R. Weiss, and the Belzer Rebbe. How impressive, they got as far as extending invitations. But evidently they didn’t attend.

They even got a few non-Habad Hasidic Rebbes to attend. Wow, the power of the Rebbeh.
