Now, five days after the disaster, the family of Arnie and Myriam Notkin have said that the calls have not stopped.

The Notkins’ daughter Dianne Ohayon says that the last call they received was Monday around 5:30 AM, making it at least the 20th call since the catastrophe occurred.

Just as before, there is only static on the other end when they answer the calls.

“There’s nobody on the line and it’s just static,” Ohayon told The Post. “And we wait and we just hang up because nothing changes.”

“We didn’t know what to think or what was going on,” she said. “We’re just sitting and waiting. We feel hopeless at this point.”

Calls to the landline are only met with a busy signal.

In the meantime, the family insists on remaining positive.

“We’re still waiting, every day,” Ohayon said. “The days are long, but we’re still hopeful and we’re just waiting. Every day is the same process.”

Those calls aren’t making themselves. Someone better go down there to what was their apartment instead of waiting for them to clear 10 stories of rubble.
