Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef To Tunisian Jews: If You’re Going To Secular Neighborhood, Don’t Come To Israel

70

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Sephardic chief rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, author of the Yalkut Yosef 30-volume halachic compendium, recently visited Tunisia and was asked by a local Jewish person whether he should emigrate to Israel. Rabbi Yosef answered that if he would live in a chareidi neighborhood then he should indeed emigrate, but if he was going to live in a secular neighborhood he would be better off staying in Tunisia.

Rabbi Yosef spoke at his weekly shiur after Shabbos which was attended this week by Tunisian chief rabbi Chaim Bitan. Rabbi Yosef related the question he had been asked and said: “I told them that it depends on where they will live, if they will live near a chareidi yeshiva, they should come but if they will live in Herzliya and in other secular places, when they come here they will leave the path of Judaism and it’s better that they stay there.”

Rabbi Yosef is known for his outspoken and uncompromising views on alternative lifestyles and on Russian Jewry. In 2020 he criticized the previous governments for bringing “masses of Goyim who hate the Jewish religion, many of whom go to church” and claimed that they were brought to “even out the chareidim.”

In 1921, my father’s parents , in Czechoslovakia were told by their rebbe not to move to America, because their children will grow up as goyim . They listened , and remained in Europe . Most of them did live to tell the tale .

The problem is the Rebbunim can’t think for themselves, they’re all bought and paid for, they just follow the party line.

Why doesn’t the esteemed dressed-up Rebbe just go over and join his people in living in Tusinia – Is that not a great idea.

so “outspoken” is the current euphemism for “foolish”?

if moshe rabbeinu didn’t feel qualified enough to exclude jews from the tribe, one has to wonder how the esteemed chief rabbi views himself.

The truth is that even if they would move to a Chareidi neighborhood, they should still stay in Tunisia unless they will be better Jews in E”Y.

Most people choose to live in the neighbourhood they feel most comfortable and can afford. Someone who wishes to live in Hertzlia by definition is not Hareidi and would never listen to R Yosef and someone who listens to R Yosef is by definition Hareidi and would never consider living in Hertzlia (even if he could afford to).

So this is just hot air

Judge Kugel, the “Semite” with blonde hair and blue eyes is the child of rape. Real Jews know it but feel bad saying it out loud.

Of course his ‘path to Judaism’ is his own personal narrowminded path. His Ashkenaz counterparts have their own path. So is he unkosher too?
