British Muslim Policewoman Hailed For Policing Anti-Lockdown Protests Is Racist And Jihadist Sympathizer

NEW YORK (VINnews) — A Muslim woman police officer in London’s Metropolitan police force was once hailed as a hero but has now been revealed as a racist and terror sympathizer. 26-year-old Ruby Begum, who was born in England to a family of Pakistani origin, was photographed last year in a hijab and police uniform and hailed for confronting anti-lockdown protesters but the Daily Mail reveals that she tweeted numerous anti-semitic tropes before her 2016 enlistment in the police force and was in regular contact with a suspected female jihadist in Syria.

Photographs and film of the petite young officer wearing a hijab on the front line went viral last year, with senior colleagues calling her inspirational. Recently her tweets from previous periods were revealed in which she uses the pejorative term ‘kuffar’ (unbeliever) to refer to non-Muslims, stating in July 2014 that   ‘Kuffar lips have been all over my mug there is no way I’m using that thing again.’

An embarrassed Scotland Yard is now questioning how such racist rants were missed when Begum was vetted. Moreover it also emerged that she had been in close contact with a woman who left Europe in 2014 to join ISIS and live in its caliphate. The woman would later acquire notoriety for appearing to defend male terrorists’ use of minority group Yazidis as sex slaves.

Terrorism experts stated recently that it was shocking that a serving police officer was in contact with an infamous pro-ISIS Twitter user who may have been in Syria.

In one of her tweets published in 2019 when she was already a full-time police officer, Begum pokes fun at the world’s continuing to mark 9/11, stating “OMG it’s 9/11 today? Jokes, I only noticed.” In 2014 she tweeted on the same date: ‘Must be stupid if you think I’m gonna do 2 mins silence for 9/11.’

Begum also tweeted against Israel during its 2014  Protective Edge campaign, prompted by the kidnap and murder of three Israeli teenagers by Hamas. Begum states that “Israel have no limits. Scumbags I can’t wait for the day they get severely punished.”

Later that year, she said: ‘Zionists have no hearts! They’ll get what’s coming to them subhanallah [glory be to God].’

Experts on antisemitism say that the term ‘Zionist’ is usually used as a code for ‘Jews’

Last night, the Met said: ‘There is no place within the Met for any racist, homophobic or otherwise hateful attitudes and officers and staff can expect robust action should they be found to hold or express such views.

‘The information provided by The Mail on Sunday regarding a police constable’s social media posts is concerning and is being treated very seriously.

‘Following that assessment, the Met made a voluntary referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct who determined that the matter should be investigated locally.

‘The Directorate of Professional Standards will now conduct a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances behind the social media posts. The officer has been notified of the investigation and placed on restricted duties.’
