Watch: Chareidi Runner Beatie Deutsch Is Face Of Adidas’s ‘Impossible Is Nothing’ Campaign

7

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Chareidi marathon runner Beatie Deutsch just missed the cutoff for the Olympic 2020 marathon race, but even getting close to an Olympic time is pretty amazing just five years after starting a career running marathons while serving as a full-time mother of 4 who even ran a marathon while pregnant with her fifth child. Deutsch’s second handicap is her insistence on maintaining modest clothing while running- headscarf, long skirts and a t-shirt as opposed to the lighter clothes of other runners.

Despite this, Deutsch has consistently improved her times until she ran a personal record of 2:31:39 prior to the Olympics but missed the cutoff by less than two minutes. However Adidas had taken note of her unique achievements and decided to use her to sponsor their “impossible is nothing” campaign.

I have no problem with Ms. Deutsch competing as a frum person. However, VIN calling her “chareidi” is an overstatement.

She is NOT chareidi. Probably not even up to the barely Jewish standards of modern orthodoxy.
