Women Of The Wall Continue Rosh Chodesh Provocations In Violation Of Agreement With President Herzog

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — As has been occurring with increasing regularity in recent months, Rosh Chodesh continues to be a source of friction between the Women of The Wall and other worshipers at the Kotel. Despite an agreement between the Women of The Wall and president Herzog that they would not create provocations in the women’s section of the Wall and instead conduct services further away, they entered the regular women’s section and shouted and screamed, disturbing other worshipers. Men supporting the Women Of the Wall also entered the women’s section in defiance of the regulations.

The Liba center decried the shameful conduct of the women who “made a ridiculous and rowdy ruckus, insulting thousands of worshipers in the middle of Rosh Chodesh prayers.”

The deputy director of the Zionist Confederation, Yizhar Hess, joined the women in tgeir provocations.

The Western Wall foundation admitted that the women had violated the agreement, stating that “the foundation is upset at the tempers which flared up on Rosh Chodesh in a severe manner, as well as by the entry of men into the women’s section, which harms the sanctity of the Western Wall, and by the whistles brought in by orthodox children which also harm the Wall’s sanctity.

“Huge efforts by members of the foundation to enable this event to pass peacefully were foiled by Women of the Wall who did not accede to security regulations. This is a grave event which should be condemned. Please maintain the sanctity of the Kotel and remove all demonstrations and degradation from it.”

The foundation contacted President Herzog and described the violation of the agreements by the Women of the Wall.

The Women of the Wall themselves complained of “severe violence and stones thrown at us, missing us by millimeters. One of our supporters was injured in the hand. People spit, hit and blocked us and police disappeared.”

Police arrested two people on charges of violent behavior, one of them a 14-year-old boy.

I don’t understand why don’t we rally frum women to come and Daven by the kosel next r chodesh. Fill the plaza so that there is no room for these women off the wall to enter or grab attention. At minimum they won’t have room to get hold of a bima and to lain
