NEW YORK (VINnews) — Dovi Soiefer, a Jewish salesman, arrived in Miami for a business conference – “the ECAP Health Conference” this week, looking forward to productive business meetings.

On his way to the conference, Soiefer was attacked by two rottweiler dogs, who knocked him to the ground and scratched and bit him on the arm. After the owner of the dogs succeeded in controlling them, he gave Soiefer his number and told him to be in touch and receive restitution from him.
A woman from the hotel who saw the attack called police, who said that if Soiefer pressed charges, the dogs would be put down.
The embarrassed owner of the dogs pleaded with Soiefer not to press charges and promised him compensation for his injuries. The man said that he had already recently lost a dog to sickness and did not want to lose his other dogs. However after Soiefer heard that the owner of the dogs was Jewish, he had a different request from him.

Soiefer, a salesman for Culinary Depot, a business providing equipment to restaurants, had hoped to meet potential clients at the conference. Once he met the Jewish man, he refused to get remuneration and instead asked him to put on Tefillin. He told that man that he could see how distraught he was and assured him that putting on Tefillin would make him feel better.
The man agreed and for the first time in his life placed Tefillin on his arm and head and said Shma Yisrael with his new friend.
And now these dogs will be left to attack a young child and cause more serious injuries. I love dogs, but These dogs need to be put down

Such a nice story. So next time when the dogs actually kill someone this kiruv guy can feel all good that he got a Jew to put on tefillin for the first time so it was all was all worth it. What an idiot.

Actually the kiddush hashem here is that he didn’t play the ghetto lottery game as would 99.99% of diverse nationalities and ethnic/immigrant groups. Instead he opted for a none monetary compensation which is unheard of in this day of litigious climate.

The main thing is to protect others from the dangerous dogs. That breed is known as “killer dogs”, ה’ ירחם.

I don’t want other people having to say Shma Yisrael, when, chas vesholem, the dangerous dogs attack again. They need to be held accountable, rather than getting off the hook. Instead of tying up the owner with tefillin, the dogs need to be tied up.

Lovely story but dogs are disgusting dangerous animals used for millennia to hunt down and kill Jews. Service dogs police dogs etc have a place but dogs do not belong in a Jewish home And yes I know the midrash about dogs mitzrayim but other that that I think they are dangerous disgusting animals to have in a home
