WALL STREET (VINnews) — U.S. stock futures fell sharply late on Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning, in response to Russia launching a war in Ukraine.

Dow futures fell 720 points, or 2.19%, S&P 500 futures dropped 2.26%. Nasdaq 100 futures decreased 2.73%.
Meanwhile oil prices surged. Global benchmark Brent jumped 5.39% to $102.06 per barrel, passing the $100 level for the first time since 2014.
On Wednesday, Wall Street struggled with yet another steep drop, the latest in a weeks-long trend.
The Dow dropped about 464 points, or 1.3%. The S&P 500 plunged 1.8%, moving deeper into correction and ending the day about 12% from its record hit in January. The Nasdaq Composite lost 2.6%.
