NEW YORK (VINnews) — Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky spoke Saturday night with Jewish leaders in the country including Chief Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich and asked them to pray for the welfare of the country. Zelensky said that he has also spoken with the other religious leaders in the country, including the head of the local church and the Mufti (Muslim leader) of the country.

Zelensky, who does not hide his Jewish roots and maintains a connection with the local Jewish community, told Rabbi Bleich:”Please request of all Ukrainian Jews to pray for the welfare of the Ukrainians.”

Rabbi Bleich shared on Twitter that the president had called him “to ask for Ukrainian Jews to pray for the people of their country and the end of the Russian invasion.”
Rabbi Bleich said before Shabbat that “the situation is very difficult. The Ukrainian government has issued rifles to anyone who wants in order to fight the enemy. I hope that everyone will pray and donate in order to strengthen the community at the toughest time in its history since World War II.”
On another occasion Rabbi Bleich said that “the Jewish community is an integral part of Ukraine and stands with the Ukrainian people, government and armed forces in defending Ukraine. The Government of Ukraine has stood by the Jewish community since Ukraine became independent in 1991.It has defended and befriended the Jewish community. I don’t need to remind you that the President and former PM of Ukraine are Jewish.”

We should doven for the yiden of Ukrain to be safe from the war. But not for the success or “welfare” of either side. In fact, if there was only a way they could both lose… hopefully after inflicting much damage and suffering on each other

Chief Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich has made million off being Chef Rabbi. He pocketed the money and even Stoliner khillah who sent him in the first place is ticked off and have tried to get replace him. Is there no one honest left??
