Who is President Biden rooting for to win the war?

Our first instinct is, he wants Ukraine to win. How can he not?

It’s good vs. evil. Freedom vs. tyranny. Democracy vs. dictatorship. How could Biden want Putin, the murdering thug, to defeat millions of innocent people?

But think about it. If Russia wins and a ceasefire is declared, the war could be over in just a few days. Sanctions will eventually be lifted (the world won’t keep them forever), the price of oil will drop, markets will stabilize, and the tanking US economy will slowly improve.

In order for Ukraine to win, it will likely involve months of fighting and insurgency. The world economy will continue to plummet, and oil prices will keep surging, which means more inflation.

From a political standpoint, a Ukraine win could be a disaster for Biden. If Russia wins, it could be highly beneficial for Biden’s legacy.

Which might explain why Biden is doing pitifully little to help Ukraine, way less than we are capable of.

For example, the U.S. is still buying oil from Russia. How does it make sense to give millions of dollars to Putin, when we can open up drilling here in America and ban Russian imports? Similarly, the Ukrainians are badly in need of weapons, yet Biden is not sending as much as they need.

Five Reasons Why Russia is Winning

Sure the Ukrainians are fighting their hearts out, but let’s face it. Russia is winning the war. It’s not even close.

1. They have nearly sealed off Ukraine’s access to vital seaports in the south, making it virtually impossible for supplies and weapons to be delivered by sea, which cuts off a huge thoroughfare for critical supplies.
2. They have surrounded and isolated huge cities, including Kyiv and Mariupol. Soon it will be impossible for troops, government officials, and residents, to obtain food, water, fuel, heat, electricity, and weapons.
3. Russia controls three nuclear power plants. This has enabled them to cut off power and other basic utilities. Millions of Ukrainians are without heat and power, and crucial supplies are quickly running out.
4. Russia is dominating Ukrainian airspace. They are launching missiles at valuable infrastructure, destroying and leveling civilian buildings, hospitals, schools, and residential neighborhoods. Russia is conducting an all-out siege against every major city, in order to enable ground troops to quickly invade and take over large population centers.
5. The Russians have ravaged what used to be thriving cities. Women and children are living in shelters, often without heat, electricity, and without access to basic food, medicine, and supplies. Russia has more troops, more artillery, and more aircraft. And while they have lost thousands of troops, they still clearly have the upper hand.

With all that said, Biden could be providing Ukraine with valuable intel to help them fight the Russians. He could conduct targeted airdrops of weapons and supplies. And he could impose way tougher sanctions, such as banning the import of Russian oil and natural gas.
