TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Monday that forbids instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade, a policy that has drawn intense national scrutiny from critics who argue it marginalizes LGBTQ people.

The legislation has pushed Florida and DeSantis, an ascending Republican and potential 2024 presidential candidate, to the forefront of the country’s culture wars, with LGBTQ advocates, students, Democrats, the entertainment industry and the White House denouncing what critics have called the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

DeSantis and Republicans have repeatedly said the measure is reasonable and that parents, not teachers, should be broaching subjects of sexual orientation and gender identity with their children.

“We will make sure that parents can send their kids to school to get an education, not an indoctrination,” DeSantis said before he signed the bill into law. He and other speakers stood at a podium affixed with a placard reading Protect Children/Support Parents.

Critics say the bill is so vaguely worded that speech could be muzzled throughout public schools.

The bill states: “Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.” Parents would be able to sue districts over violations.

DeSantis signed the bill after a news conference held at the Classical Preparatory School in Spring Hill, about 46 miles (74 kilometers) north of Tampa. The school was founded by Anne Corcoran, wife of Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran, according to The Gainesville Sun.

This is about teaching children in kindergarten through grade 3.

Most sexualized content for those children is inappropriate in schools. If anything is necessary it should be up to the children’s parents.

Calling it “Don’t Say Gay” is political lies from the extreme left.

Stop lying about the bill.

There are no gay or lesbian or “transgender” children, they are children, they can barely poop by themselves, all it is is child abuse by teachers and leftist parents brainwashing their children. Children should not be indoctrinated into this so leftists can feel good about themselves.

Nonsense and malarkey. We are talking about kids. How would a kid even know about LGBT before they have a yetzer hara? Why would they wnat that at 1st grade. Sorry but first graders don;t have any tavous like that. It starts near 12/13. No excuse to indrotduce these antoi torah views and immoral stuff so early. World has gone mad

Interesting how the Democrat nickname for the bill (Don’t Say Gay) – which is a lie – has been adopted by the news media in their reporting on this bill.

They’re not known as the Fake News media for nothing.

Let me understand. The left thinks that kindergartners should be educated in sexual deviations?

I can’t wait for Charlie’s next twisted post, written with the help of his Rabbit, Avi Weiss. He’ll lecture us all on how the Torah supports sexual orientation and gender identity indoctrination for small children. Just last week that self-promoting ignoramus and so-called doctor claimed “our Rabbinic tradition actually isn’t sure” about identifying genders, so why not leave it up to the teachers unions. That’s what happens when Judaism is tossed out the window in favor of his woke religion.

For the continued existence of humanity it is meant for people to procreate. Quite obviously the vast majority of gay people do not and cannot perform that function. So, they must indoctrinate to get new recruits , and preventing schools to teach that it is normal is indoctrination. Let them make their own decisions when they are adult , even if it it the wrong one.

Rav Avigdor Miller on Disney’s Immorality

Q:
Is it wrong to allow one’s children to read Disney books like Mickey Mouse and things like that?

A:
Now, whether or not you should be reading Walt Disney to your children is one question. But I say that you shouldn’t for a different reason. I say that you should boycott Walt Disney because Disney is an active force in promoting all types of immorality and I don’t want to say what else. They promote very filthy things like H-O-M [the Rav spelled out the three letters] – I really don’t want to say the rest. And therefore, we should boycott Walt Disney as much as possible.

And if they hadn’t been promoting immorality then it would just be stam a waste of time. What do you get out of books that make it that mice talk and other animals are talking? It’s meaningless. But Walt Disney is worse than meaningless because of the immorality that they are promoting in America.

And therefore we should do everything we can to lend our support to those who are trying to make this world more moral. We should help the people – even the goyim – who are fighting for morality. We really should do that.

Is 2024 Republican heading into a 3 way race between President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and Governor Ron Santis.
It surely is looking so, and each one is capable of beating sleepy joe or/& kamala by a landslide as did President Ronald Reagan in 1984.

If I understand the wording of the bill correctly the State would have to specify standards for what can be taught about sexual orientation or gender identity for you to not be in accordance with state standards. As of now there are no standards in FL as far as I can tell, so this bill is meaningless. That said, really curious what those standards would be… The FL Dept of Education has a reading list and many of the books for children in 3rd grade depicts gender based relationships, such as Mary Poppins which has a depiction of a married couple and broaches such topics as suffrage which perhaps is a bit too challenging for kids in FL.

Whatever, bunch of pointless pandering and tilting at windmills by demagogues trying to stir up populist nationalism in order to gain political power. Is this really different than those throughout history that have built movements and gained power via spreading lies about Jews? Sometimes I wonder if we too easily forget the power of lies especially when you like the end result. How many times have I heard, especially these last few years, that this or that person was good to Jews so we blindly owe him allegiance. Very easy to forget the next lie might just target you.

Ron is a total heretic. The moral corruption must be introduced into kids as early as possible. How dare he oppose it?

The idea is to villify gays, to marginalize them, to discriminate against them. Then to boycott them, throw them out of jobs and universities. Then arrest them. Throw them into re-education camps. Then…
