Running out of the grocery, the terrorist tried to shoot other passersby on Bialik street and missed, after which his gun jammed. Releasing the jamming, the terrorist went up to a car and shot the driver, 36-year-old Yaakov Yisrael Shalom, from point blank range, killing him. Shalom left a wife and four children. His father, Meir Shalom, was one of the leaders of the Yemenite community in Bnei Brak and died of corona in 2020.

Six minutes after the beginning of the rampage, the terrorist reached Herzl street and shot Avishai Yehezkel, a young man who was trying to protect his two-year-old son. Yehezkel was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving his two-year-old son and a pregnant wife.

The terrorist continued walking down the block and then a police motorcycle arrived with two police officers who engaged the terrorist. One of the officers, 32-year-old Amir Ghory, was killed in the exchange of fire and the other succeeded in eliminating the terrorist.
