Among those who gathered at the tomb was Chief Rabbi David Lau as well as Rabbi Wilhelm who recently arrived from Ukraine with the children of the orphanage he directs. Samarian Council head Yossi Dagan and Samaria Chief Rabbi Elyakim Levanon were among those attending the prayers. Special prayers were offered for the wife of the chief rabbi, Feiga Tzipora bas Hadassa, who is in serious condition after suffering a stroke, as well as for Rabbi Chaim Druckman who is hospitalized with pneumonia.

Rabbi Lau said that “we are gathered at the tomb of the one who received the Torah from Moshe Rabbeinu, the one who studied Torah assiduously for 40 years and of whom it is written that “he did not leave the tent”. The Torah and the right to the land of Israel are two entities merged together. They are the base for the third aspect which is Am Yisrael. The entire people of Israel stand in prayer and request from the creator of the world to see the geulah sheleima, the completer redemption which will bring a cure to all the sick people in the Jewish nation. I thank all those praying on behalf of Feiga Tziporah bas Hadassa. May Hashem help all of us.”

Samarian Council leader Yossi Dagan described Yehoshua Bin Nun as “the first chief of staff, the bequeather of the land of Israel who stood and said “the land is very good, we will go up and conquer it because we can overcome.” Dagan called on the government to learn from Yehoshua Bin Nun, to be strong and learn courage from the great men of our nation and to stand up against those who are fighting us.”

Rabbi Levanon quoted the Gra who says that Yehoshua Bin Nun is Mashiach Ben Yosef and brought the Torah to the land of Israel as well as building the land and establishing communities.
