JERUSALEM (VINnews) —. In a belligerent speech in Gaza Saturday night, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar threatened Israel repeatedly that if it “violated” Al-Aqsa again, Hamas will “not hesitate” to take action.

“Our people must prepare for a great battle if the occupation does not cease its aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Sinwar said.

“Violating Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem means a regional, religious war,” he said.

Sinwar also threatened to attack synagogues worldwide if Israel continues what he termed “violation” of the mosque, after Israeli police entered the mosque during riots on Temple Mount two weeks ago.

“Whoever makes the decision to allow this photo [of Israeli police in the mosque] to be repeated, the violation of Al-Aqsa — has decided to allow the violation of thousands of synagogues all across the world,” Sinwar said.

Sinwar praised the terror wave which has left 15 Israelis dead in the last month and called on Palestinians to continue to commit attacks.

The terrorist leader also accused the Ra’am party of treason and “an unforgivable crime” for their support of Israel’s current government.

He slammed the Ra’am party and called Abbas “Abu Righal” — a legendary traitor in pre-Islamic legend.

Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas responded Sunday to Sinwar’s accusations, stating on Israel’s Channel 12 that  “We don’t owe anything to Yahya Sinwar or anyone else. We are what is good for the Arab community and Palestinian nation.”

Abbas, himself a member of the Islamic movement which has the same political affiliation as Hamas with the Muslim Brotherhood, nonetheless argued with Sinwar, stating that “We believe that the process we are leading inside the State of Israel, of partnership, of tolerant dialogue, will also advance comprehensive peace between the people of Israel and the Palestinian people,” he said in the interview.

Ra’am officials told the Kan public broadcaster than Sinwar’s speech was “incitement” against the party.

“We will not listen to any sermons from Sinwar. He will deal with Gaza, and we will deal with Israeli Arabs,” party officials told Kan.

The Islamic Movement in Israel has two branches with different ideologies. The northern branch was outlawed in 2015 for the inciteful anti-state rhetoric of its leader Raad Salah, who identified with terror attacks against Israel. Salah was also jailed for his incitement but has since been released. The southern branch is led by Abbas and also aims to achieve the advancement of Muslims in Israel but via political means rather than violent conflict.

Members of the Islamic Movement were embarrassed by Abbas’s response to Sinwar which emphasized the fissure in the movement between those intent on armed struggle against Israel and those with a more conciliatory approach.

“There was no need to respond to what Sinwar said. We have no interest in arguing with Hamas,” Islamic Movement officials told Channel 12.

Abbas has publicly embraced a political program that seeks to achieve tangible gains for Arab Israelis. In interviews in both Arabic and Hebrew, the Islamist has said that Israel “was a Jewish state and will remain so.”

Currently Ra’am has suspended its membership in the coalition but negotiations are under way for the return of the Arab party to the current govt.

This murderer is a card-carrying Zionist if he (falsely) believes that synagogues the world over are appropriate targets as a response to Zionist actions.

The Zionists represent only Zionists, not Jews. Synagogues the world over are holy places to the Jewish religion, not the invented Zionist “nation”.
