BROOKLYN (Yaakov M / VINnews) — On Wednesday, Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin attacked New York State’s effort to invade yeshivas.

Zeldin, a staunch pro-life conservative, defended yeshiva curriculums and praised the “high quality education” they offer.
The congressman attended an event in Kensington on Wednesday, and was asked by Hamodia reporter Reuvain Borchardt about the State Education Department’s proposed regulations.
“The state is wrong to be pushing the substantial-equivalency standards,” Zeldin replied. “As we see here in Brooklyn, with yeshiva education, they’re providing a high-quality education for a lot of young boys and girls here in the community…And unfortunately, right now, they are attacking these private-school educations.”

He continued, “My mother was a fourth grade elementary teacher at a yeshiva in Brooklyn growing up, before she became a public-school teacher on Long Island. And I have found that the yeshiva education is a high-quality education that should be embraced, should be rewarded, and we should make life administering one of these schools easier, not harder.”
This was not the first time Zeldin voiced opposition to the draconian proposals. Last month he criticized the effort during a primary debate.
Governor Hochul, on the other hand, has refused to defend yeshivas. Despite receiving enormous support from the Charedi community, along with multiple endorsements by Rabbanim and askanim, the radical leftist governor has refused to take a position on the proposed regulations.
When asked about the proposal by Hamodia in April, Hochul dodged the question, saying that “the state Education Department operated 100% independently from the administration. It is not an agency that I have jurisdiction or oversight over. But I’m also listening to the concerns of the community and I’m taking them very seriously.”

Hochul has not stood up for our yeshivos against the clueless Board of Ed who have taken marching orders from a perennially unemployed, lying, whining, hate-filled LOSER who speaks for no one but himself and maybe beatrice. the future of our kinderlach, of our Mesorah is at stake. do you want a curriculum decided by Daas Torah or by some guy who made his wife moichel her kesubah?!

What else do we need, tiere, heimisha Yidden, to be convinced about the great danger that the so-called democratic party and its evil leaders pose to us as a G-d-fearing, moral, sane and patriotic people? Obviously, Mr. Lee Zeldin is a normal decent intelligent person, but more importantly, he recognizes and isn’t afraid to openly state the fact that regardinig the issue of our mosdos chinuch, and system of education – there is NO COMPARISON with ours and with that of the secular public school quality of education! They can ‘train’ and try to churn out as many PhD’s , doctors, and any professionals they want to – fact is, ‘their’ products are for the most part, messed up, immoral, hefkerdik, and today, unfortunately, often, dangerous and unsuccessful examples of human beings. Forget about this Hochul lady. She , for us, can only spell tzuris.

The boys Chasidishe Yeshivas learn English subjects for 2 hours, 3 days a week. 10 year old boys cannot read English, have no comprehension skills and poor math skills. I don’t care what Zeldin says about his mother teaching in a Brooklyn Yeshiva. 18 year old boys get married and are not prepared to support their families. They learned nothing except Jewish religious dictates and Gemara. Zeldin, stop pandering! You’re complicit in depriving the children of a good education so they can face the future without relying on government handouts, which are hard working peoples tax dollars. No religious Jewish parent wants CRT in their schools. No religious Jewish parent wants transgenders teaching their children. These are moral sins in our Biblical laws. All of us want a proper secular education including science, math, computers, English, geography, history. Stop depriving the next generation by pandering to the parents. Stop giving them government hand outs and they will start teaching their children English.
